Stehr - Soil-Stabilization

The Stehr soil stabilization milling have been developed to offer a complete and affordable alternative to self-propelled milling in conjunction with a tractor.

In the Soil stabilization with lime or cement the existing soil in place is ("mix in place") converted into a high-quality material which has a much more permanent water. Frost and soundness as well as larger compressive, tensile and shear strength achieved.

Application examples:
- Construction layers in road construction
- Development of industrial areas, parking areas or sports grounds
- Landfill

For mixing the binder soil stabilization milling are used that have either their own initiative ("self-drive") or pulled by powerful tugs ("cutting units").

Attachments milling or self-drive?

From tractors drawn transverse cutting units offer the following advantages:
- Much lower investment (tractor + tiller)
- Tug stands for other purposes
- Lower fuel consumption
- No unwanted precompression by driving over the milled material
- Agility, Transport

However, the advantages hitherto stood opposite especially a much lower milling.

With the new generation of milling attachments Stehr- it is the first time succeeded in achieving performance that was previously reserved for the best self-propelled milling:
600 2.400 mm milling depth in mm working width.

Rates: Competitors (self-drive) against Stehr-cutter

The Stehr-cutter offers:

  • more intensive intermixing and finer milling pattern
  • no unwanted precompression by rolling over the milled "soft" material
  • greater cutting depth (max. 600 mm, even in natural soil)

New drive concept

The power transmission from the PTO of the tractor on the Auger does not take place, as usual, about power consuming lateral spur gear, but via bilateral power straps that run at high speed, but thus need only transmit a relatively low torque. The torque set up until where the torque is needed: in the Auger. For this purpose, we use low-loss planetary gear.

The side belt drive built - in comparison to Stirnradgetrieben- very narrow. This is very important, since the housing of the lateral drive is pulled through the ground in the lower region. Thus the narrower the drive side, the smaller is the force needed.

Suitable tractor:

Prerequisite is a rear PTO output with 1000 u / min and a creeper (V min = 300 - 400 m / hr.) or a "Vario" - drive.

Engine performance:
The information referred to represent the respective minimum values.
For maximum cutting depth in difficult ground conditions
we recommend 130 - 170 hp (SBF 22 L), 160 - 200 hp (SBF 24 L) or 230 hp (SBF 24)
